Meaning / Definition
Osteoporosis is thining of the bones due to reduction of bone mass. Osteoporosis may cause a person to fracture himself, which is often slow to heal and poorly. It is common among the older adults.
Causes and Effects
Osteoporosis causes bones to become less dense and more fragile.The bones will become very brittle and fragile due to the loss of tissues.
Signs and Symptoms
In the early stages of bone loss, normally there are no symptoms. But once the bones have been weakened by Osteoporosis, you may have signs and symptoms that includes back pain, loss of height, and a stooped posture and bone fracture.
Prevention and Treatment
-Get enough calcium and vitamin d
-engage in regular exercises
-Eat a lot of fruits and vegetable
-Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol

Any chronic inflammatory diseases can put you at a greater risk of osteoporosis.
