Meaning / Definition

People who have lactose intolerance are people who doesn't have the ability to digest lactose,a sugar found in milk and to a lesser extent dairy products, causing side effects. It is due to a lactose deficiency, which prevents babies from drinking even human milk.

Causes and Effects

Lactose intolerance is caused by a deficiency of the intestinal enzyme lactase that splits lactose into two smaller sugars, glucose and galactose. Lactose intolerance is usually the result of a lactase deficiency. Lactase is an enzyme, normally produced in the small intestines that is used to digest lactose.

Sign and Symptoms

If you are Lactose intolerance, you will experience one or more of the following symptoms 30 minutes to 2 hours after consuming a milk-containing or milk-based product: Abdominal bloating, pain, or cramps. Borborygmi (rumbling or gurgling sounds in the stomach) Diarrhea.

Prevention and Treatment

There is no way to prevent lactose intolerance. But, there are two main ways to treat lactose intolerance which is to reduce the amount of lactose you eat, by limiting milk and dairy products and taking commercially available enzyme substitutes. People with lactose intolerance need to read labels of all prepared foods in ice cream and milk. Cheese typically have lower amount of lactose.

Link to Other Illnesses or Diseases

Other conditions can cause symptoms similar to those of lactose intolerance, including irritable bowel syndrom, inflammatory bowel disease, overuse of laxatives and problems digesting foods that contain fructose and sorbitol.

Simple and comprehensive. Good job!
However, it will be good to have more pictures and colour variation to make your webpage more attractive.
