Project : Osteoporosis
Meaning / Definition
Osteoporosis means porous bone( Porous bone means :Pores bone). Osteoporosis defines as a skeletal disorder in which bone strength is reduce as a result of loss of bone mass and through the deterioration of the bone architecture. http://healthtalk.org (copied from this website)
Osteoporosis means lack of calcium and therefore the bones will break easily when fall down. Osteoporosis have many large holes compared to healthy bones. Osteoporosis bones are very weak . In fact if your bones to fracture(Broken) , it will take a long time for the bone to grow back into its original shape. In worst case if the bones were to recover it will still have Osteoporosis but some cases it wont happen.(Our own words)
Causes and Effects
Your bones are in a constant state of renewal — new bone is made and old bone is broken down. When you're young, your body makes new bone faster than it breaks down old bone and your bone mass increases. Most people reach their peak bone mass by their early 20s. As people age, bone mass is lost faster than it's created.
How likely you are to develop osteoporosis depends partly on how much bone mass you attained in your youth. The higher your peak bone mass, the more bone you have "in the bank" and the less likely you are to develop osteoporosis as you age.http://mayoclinic.org(Copied from this website)
Not drinking enough milk, eating too little protein, drinking too much coffee and etc. Your bone Density will decrease when your age is getting old.(Our own Words)
