1. Heart Disease is a broad term used to describe a range of diseases that affects your heart. The various diseases that fall under the umbrella of heart diseases includes diseases of your blood vessels, such as coronary artery disease, heart rhythm / beating problems also known as arrhythmia , heart infections and congenital heart defects. The term "heart disease" is often used interchangeably with "cardiovascular disease." Cardiovascular disease generally refers to conditions that involved narrowed or blocked blood vessels that can be lead to a heart attack, chest pain which is also known as angina or stroke. Other heart conditions, such as infections and conditions that affect your heart's muscle, valves or beating rhythm, also are considered forms of heart disease. Many forms of heart disease can be prevented or treated with healthy lifestyle choices. Easier way of saying is that any conditions of the heart that impairs its functioning.

2. Heart disease is a general term that refers to only disease or condition of the heart, including coronary heart disease, hypertension, heart failure, longenital heart disease, disorders of the heart valves, heart infections, cardiomyo parts, conduction disorders, and heart arrythmias.

3. Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is when a waxy substance call plaque builds up insides the coronary artery and block the oxygen - rich blood to the heart muscle.

Let's watch a video to get more understanding of the term:

1. Causes of cardiomyopathy

The three types of cardiomyopathy are dilated, hypertension and restirctive. Most common type is the dilated cardiomy which the left ventricle of your heart becomes enlarged therefore its pumping ability becomes less forceful and blood does not flow easily through the heart. Hypertrophic involves abnormal growth of thickening of your heart muscle, affecting the muscle of your hearts main pumping chamber. Resthat the heart muscle becomes stiff and less electric meaning the heart cannot expand and fill with blood between heartbeats.

2. Causes of heart infections

It consists of bacteria, viruses, parasities and medication. Having a poor health can cause bacteria to enter bloodstream through every day activities. Viruses associated with sexually transmitted infections also can travel to the heart muscle and causes an infections. Parasites that can cause heart disease are trypanosome cruzi, toxoplasmosis and chagas' disease. Medication may cause an allergic or toxic reactions, that needles used to administer medications or illegaldrugs also can transmit viruses or bacteria that can cause heart infections.

Few main risk factor that causes heart disease:

Smoking, Sedenitary lifestyle, hypertension , diabetes , hyperchcholesterolemia and genetic predisposition.

Watch some videos to help you know about the causes:

1.The most common symptoms for heart attack is chest pain or discomfort. It can cause discomfort for the upper body, for example, arms, back, necks, jaws or the upper part stomach. Symptoms like light- headness and dizziness are the others.

One of the symptoms is Arrhythmia

It is the rate of heartbeat. This can cause the heart to beat irregular rhythm (too fast or too slow). Some can even cause your heart to sudden stop beating. This condition is called Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) it causes loss of contiousness or even death if it is not treated immediately.

OR

It is a problem regarding the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat.

Another symptoms is Broken Heart Syndrome.

The signs of it are chest pain and shortness. This may cause arrhythmia or cardio genic shock which is when weakened heart cannot pump enough blood for the body.

OR

Most common are chest pain and shortness of breath ,symptoms occurs after having extreme emotional or physical stress.

2.There are no symptoms in its early stages. Usually, it would be angina pectioris (chest pain) or heart attack to be the first symptom. Angina pectoris is discomfort or pain in the chest which is brought on by exertion and relieved by the rest. Major symptoms are intense chest pain , sudden cold , sweating weakness and nausea.

Third Symptom is Heart Attack.

It can cause upper body discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaws or upper part of the stomach.

Fourth Symptom is Heart Failure.

It can cause swelling in the feet, ankles, legs, abdomen and veins in the neck.

3.Signs of that heart disease includes shortness of breath , palpitations , faster rate of heartbeat , weakness or dizziness, nausea and sweating.

Watch Some Early Signs and Symptoms of Heart Disease:

Symptoms of the DANGER Of HEART ATTACK:

Treatment for *CHD:

-Lifestyle changes

-Medical/surgical procedures

-Cardias rehabilitation(rehab)

Goals for treatment:

- Relieve symptoms

- Reduce risk

- Stop build up of plaque

- Lower risk of blood clot

- Widen/ bypass plaque

- Prevent CHD*

Follow a healthy diet:

Avoid food/ drink with high added sugar

Limit the amount of solid fat and refined grain

Eat food with little amount of salt (too much salt may lead to high blood pressure)

Do not drink alcohol ( too much alcohol may to weight gain, raising your blood pressure and triglyceride level)

Quit smoking(!)*:

If it is diffcult, try joining support groups. You can find them at hospitals, workplaces or community groups. Many hospitals, workplaces and community groups offer classes to help people quit smoking.

*CHD

It means Coronary Heart Disease.

1.Prevention of CHD*(Summary):

Prevent coronary heart disease by taking action to control risk factor. If you smoke, try to quit as soon as possible it can increase your risk for coronary heart disease, heart attack and it could worsen the other risk factors. Approach your doctor to help you quit smoking. You should also avoid secondhand smoke.

An important part of a healthy lifestyle is following a healthy diet. It includes a variety of vegetables. Including whole grains, fat-free or low-fat dairy products and protein foods , such as lean meats, poultry without skin, seafood, processed soy products, nuts, seeds, beans and peas.

Approach your doctor to invent a reasonable weight- loss plan if you are overweight or obese. Controlling your weight is also one of the ways to control risk factors for coronary heart disease. Be physcically active as physical activity can improve fitness level and health.

You may need medicines to control CHD* risk factors if lifestyles changes are not enough. Take all medicines as prescribed.

2. Begin with some regular physcial activites. Being physcially active can improve heart's pumping efficiency. Increase consumption of vegetables , fruits , low - fat milk and other dairy products.

3. Avoid smoking or using tobacco. It could harm your heart and blood vessels, leading to narrowing of the arteries. Exercise for 30 minutes on most days of the week, it helps to control your weight and reduce chances of getting conditions that may put a strain on your heart. Eating a healthy diet can reduce risk of heart disease.

Let's watch some videos here:

Both video show how we can prevent and treat heart disease. So if you got heart disease please follow to improve your life to have a better life and longer living.

Dear Group 6,

Great to see most of the sections done up. Good job!

Some improvements:
1) Remove, in each section, the parts on the "In this section... " as this is meant as a guide for the section
2) Do put all the websites which you made your references to at the bottom under "References"
3) Do rearrange your information in each section together, as some points are repeated, while some are jumbled up, e.g. Signs and Symptoms: Point 1 and 2 talks about symptoms, Point 3 is about signs, then suddenly there is symptoms again.
4) Do not put pictures for the sake of putting pictures, i.e. the pictures must bring out a certain point or concept.
5) Be consistent in your font type and size.

By the way, I only gave one example for Improvement 3, there are many areas in the wiki that requires your group to rearrange and rewrite.
