  Location of the ecosystem: mangrove are found around  the rivers and lakes.Some Examples of Swamp : Vasyugan Swamp(Western Siberia), 

Atchafalaya Swamp(United States),  Okefenokee Swamp(Georgia/Florida),Barley Barber Swamp(United States) 

  Description of ecosystem: It is a wetland and it is a cooling place to relax and clam yourself.

  Biodiversity of ecosystem :  The Swamp protects water quality by acting as a filter, provides habitat for abundant wildlife and provides an important natural resource for public enjoyment. Located in a rapidly urbanizing area, the long-term survival of this 4,200-acre freshwater wetland and its 63,000-acre+ watershed is threatened by on-going development, habitat fragmentation, overabundance of invasive species such as giant reed, purple loosestrife and white-tailed deer, alterations in hydrology, timber harvest in wooded wetlands, illegal collection of rare species, and deteriorating water quality caused by runoff from adjacent agriculture, residences, industry and roadways. Now is an opportune time to develop stewardship plans for the Great Swamp that will conserve biological richness and ensure the sustainable economic development of the region.

• Air:<span style="background-color: #ffff00;" _mce_style="background-color: #ffff00;">Red mangroves</span>, which can survive in the most inundated areas, prop themselves above the water level with stilt roots and can then absorb air through pores in their bark <span style="background-color: #ffff00;" _mce_style="background-color: #ffff00;">(</span><span style="background-color: #ffff00;" _mce_style="background-color: #ffff00;">lenticels</span><span style="background-color: #ffff00;" _mce_style="background-color: #ffff00;">)</span>. <span style="background-color: #ffff00;" _mce_style="background-color: #ffff00;">Black mangroves</span> live on higher ground and make many <span style="background-color: #ffff00;" _mce_style="background-color: #ffff00;">pneumatophores</span> (specialised root-like structures which stick up out of the soil like straws for breathing) which are also covered in <span style="background-color: #ffff00;" _mce_style="background-color: #ffff00;">lenticels</span>. These "breathing tubes" typically reach heights of up to thirty centimeters, and in some species, over three meters. There are four types of pneumatophore—stilt or prop type, snorkel or peg type, knee type, and ribbon or plank type. Knee and ribbon types may be combined with buttress roots at the base of the tree. The roots also contain wide <span style="background-color: #ffff00;" _mce_style="background-color: #ffff00;">aerenchyma</span> to facilitate transport within the plant.
