Overview

In this section, include a brief description of the allocated ecosystem. You should include the following information:

  • Location of the ecosystem:
  • Description of ecosystem:
  • Biodiversity of ecosystem (richness of life in ecosystem):

Physical Factors

A savannah is a grassland ecosystem that is characterized by the trees being sufficiently small or widely spaced so that the canopy there does not close.Light is sufficient there because the open canopy allows enough light to reach the ground to support an unbroken herbaceous layer that mostly consist of C4 grasses.Usually savannahs feature widely spaced, scattered trees but however in many savannahs, the tree densities and the trees in savannahs are more regularly spaced than in forests. It is also characterized by seasonal water availability, with majority of rainfall confined to one season.Savannahs have warm temperature year round. The air in the savannah gets polluted by many fires that destory the land, smoke and exhaust fumes.

Interrelationship in Ecosystem

Predator-prey-The prey population finds ample food at all time. The food supply of the predator population depends entirely on the prey populations.

Parasitism- Parasitism is a type of non mutual relationship between organisms of different species where one organism, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other, the host.
